Né en 1997 dans l’Est de la France, vit et travaille à Nantes, France

Artiste plasticien et lauréat du Prix des arts visuels de la Ville de Nantes, Antoine Caclin travaille une pratique pluridisciplinaire. Enrichie par diverses méthodologies de recherche, sa production propose une relecture des imaginaires des mondes du travail et du repos, en observant nos systèmes d’organisation et nos rituels contemporains. Sensible aux dynamiques économiques et aux techniques managériales qui façonnent nos existences, il interroge les mécanismes de production et d’organisation, révélant leurs absurdités et détournant leurs codes. se réapproprier ces espaces cadrés en y mettant en valeur des formes de résistance discrètes : le non-travail, la pause, le retrait, le repos comme gestes politiques à bas bruit. Là où tout semble orienté vers l’efficacité et la performance, il ouvre des brèches, installe des ralentissements et des zones improductives. En construisant son travail en fragments composant des récits, Il joue des stéréotypes et des instants normés qui rythment nos interactions (pause-café, team building, tutoriel, after work, etc.). Dans une société où la représentation et la performance priment, il explore les rouages de la communication et leurs impacts sur les échanges sociaux, non sans un certain humour. Son esthétique mêle bureaucratie et signalétique, avec une prédilection pour les objets trouvés, modifiés ou créés de toutes pièces, interrogeant le rapport au travail manuel en autorisant les accidents, révélant la tension entre rationalisation industrielle et imperfection humaine dans l’acte de produire. Antoine Caclin compose un langage plastique où se croisent critique et poésie, logique administrative et dérision, invitant à une réflexion sur nos manières de produire, de consommer, d’échanger et de coexister dans un monde où les structures elles-mêmes deviennent de plus en plus complexes.

A Visual Artist and winner of the City of Nantes Visual Arts Prize, Antoine Caclin works across multiple disciplines. Enriched by various research methodologies, his work offers a reinterpretation of the imaginaries surrounding the worlds of work and rest, examining our organizational systems and contemporary rituals. Attentive to the economic dynamics and managerial techniques that shape our lives, he examines the mechanisms of production and organization, revealing their absurdities and subverting their codes. His artistic work attempts to reappropriate these structured spaces by highlighting discreet forms of resistance: non-work, breaks, retreat, and rest as low-key political gestures. Where everything seems focused on efficiency and performance, he creates openings, introduces slowdowns, and establishes unproductive zones. By constructing his work in fragments that compose narratives, he plays on the stereotypes and standardized moments that punctuate our interactions (coffee breaks, team-building exercises, tutorials, after-work gatherings, etc.). In a society where image and performance take precedence, he explores the workings of communication and their impact on social interactions, not without a certain sense of humor. His aesthetic blends bureaucracy and signage, with a predilection for found objects, modified pieces, or creations made from scratch, questioning our relationship to manual labor by embracing accidents and revealing the tension between industrial rationalization and human imperfection in the act of production. Antoine Caclin crafts a visual language where criticism and poetry, administrative logic and derision intersect, inviting us to reflect on the ways we produce, consume, interact, and coexist in a world where structures themselves are becoming increasingly complex.
